Based on the basal spatial database of the UPT (Urban Public Traffic), the UPTN (Urban Public Traffic Network) planning needs a great deal of spatial analysis to educe the basic character of the UPTN, and also needs visualization analysis of many kinds of the UPTN character to support the establishment of the project.In the previous chapters, this paper describes the problems that consist in the UPTN, and concerns about the disadvantages of the traditional techniques at the UPTN planning. With using for overseas reference and based on the analyses of the application of GIS in the UPTN planning, this paper brings forward the design and development and application research of the UPTN planning model based on GIS (Geographic Information System).The research of this paper is began with the analysis the geographic spatial character of the UPTN, and designs the UPTN data mode based on GIS. Then, based on the good exhibiting all kinds of topology of the UPTN, and combined with the technology evaluation standards of the UPTN, this paper builds the UPTN planning mathematic model, and puts forward the quantitative calculation of the UPTN evaluation standards based on GIS; brings forward the arithmetic of the optimal path of the UPTN based on the public traffic network storage structure; designs the bus lines grouping management model, and realizes the contradistinctive evaluation of the UPTN planning projects based on GIS.At last, the paper applies COMGIS technology to realize the UPTN planning model. And combined with the application of Urban Public Traffic Network planning model based on COMGIS, this paper illuminates that the study is feasibility.
