With the rapid urban economic developed, urban population growth, urbanizationaccelerated and the motor vehicle ownership increased, urban transport challenges facing anincreasingly severe. There are many problems of city traffic on adjustment of the layout of urbanspace,the requirements of sustainable development and changes in urban economicdevelopment strategy. The problem must be solved that how to coordinate development ofurban transport and economic, ensure that the city has a good traffic order. Various aspects ofplanning the layout of road network are learned, evaluation of road network layout planning isused on construction. The level of road network layout planning is improved. This paper focuson the urban road network layout planning problems, the Current road network layoutplanning is studied, the reference is provided for future network layout planning.This paper is relied on city network layout planning of Xian, Shanxi province. The mainstudies are as followed:(1) City road hierarchies are analyzed. The commonly used roadnetwork layout planning methods are analyzed. The different road network planningevaluation methods are analyzed.(2) The road traffic conditions of Xian is comprehensivesurveyed, the relationship between the land using and urban traffic are analyzed, road trafficdevelopment demands including urban development, natural geographical conditions andsocial economic development are analyzed.(3) The urban road network layout planning ofXian city is analyzed, the principle, basis and method of urban road network layout planningare analyzed, the size of road network development, normative level and standardizedprogram are analyzed.(4) The evaluation methods of urban road network layout planningbased on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is proposed. Combination weight Calculationmethods and fuzzy evaluation model are established, the urban road network layout planningof Xian city is evaluated.
