Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) combustion is one of high efficiency low emission coal firing technologies. CFB boiler has such features as fuel flexibility, high combustion efficiency, low emissions, rapid load change ability and broad turndown ratio etc. CFB boiler has been used widely around the world.This paper focus on 460 t/h CFB boiler in Huasheng Power Plant, Shandong Province, P.R. China. It describes technical features and configuration of this type of CFB boiler. In addition cold experimental study and thermal debugging experiment are carried out.Cold experiment study results showed that this type of CFB boiler has better drought performance, stable distributor pressure drop, flat bed pressure drop, even air distribution. Experiment results indicated that design of this boiler is rational and it has better hydrodynamics features. The results have important significance to operation.By means of thermal debugging experiment study, optimum operating parameters and conditions are obtained, operation rules are improved, accidents are provided.The study work of the present paper provides experience for design, debugging experiment and operation of both 460 t/h and lager CFB boilers. It will be reference to related personals in CFB technology field.
