Crankshaft is one of the main parts for internal- combustion engine ,which is in charge of converting piston back and forth movement into rotating movement, undergoes complicated interaction stress, directly affects the service life of internal- combustion engines, the advanced design, reasonable strengthening and manufacturing means are the important guarantee to improve the crankshaft service life and keep the engine in normal operation. This dissertation takes the crankshaft for example, by the comparision with the crankshaft designing dimension and experience formula, to analyze the design rationality, emphatically analyze the current strengthening means for crankshafts and Dongfeng Chaoyang Diesel Co., Ltd(DCD) crank shaft nitriding process, by the comparision of different kinds strengthening means and suggestions are given that different kinds crankshafts should use different strengthening means. And the introduction to DCD's crankshaft current manufacturing process is given, by the comparision with the world advanced manufacturing process, the improvement direction for DCD's crankshaft current manufacturing process is set forth.
