Through the analysis of heat transfer characteristic of steam condensation in tube bundles of condensers of Power Plant, the concept of equivalent convective heat transfer coefficient of steam condensation was presented. And based on comparison of some over-all heat transfer coefficient used in calculation of condensers, a equivalent convective heat transfer coefficient of steam condensation has been given primarily. Cooling tube with resistance to corrosion in water polluted was selected after analysis the reason of damage of the No.8 Unit's Condenser in Zunyi Power Plant. Cooling area needed of No.8 Unit's Condenser was calculated used different equations of over-all heat transfer coefficient, the area calculated is large 5 percent than former area. The engineering thermal calculation of the condenser made of smooth stainless steel had been carried, the result shown that the area of condenser made of smooth TP304 stainless steel tube is more than 20 percent than area made of HSn70-1A tubes, it indicates that the remake work could not replace brass tubes simply with smooth stainless steel tubes. The remake scheme used TP304 stainless steel spirally indented tube for cooling tube was determined. The relations of convective heat transfer coefficient fitted the convection heat transfer inside tube and condensation heat transfer outside tube for spirally indented stainless steel tube were selected. The engineering thermal calculation, the calculations of different operating conditions, of the resistance of water flow and vapor flow, and of the air leak amount were made. The results show that the condenser made of spirally indented stainless steel tubes with characteristic of enhancement of heat transfer has the same heat transfer rate under the same cooling area, but the resistance of water flow increases.
