With the coming of the construction commencement of Guangdong LNG, Shenzhen's establishment of natural gas transmission and distribution systems is becoming an issue of some urgency. But its feasibility schematic systems continue being questioned and doubted, somewhat to an extent of ground-shaking, resulting in the client's seeking of new proposals, in order to find out the solutions to the key problems of transmission and distribution systems. Based on researches to associated professions, with the use of the latest design theory, this paper has systematically and thoroughly studied the use of new technology for the key contents of the systems such as pressure range, peak shaving, system optimization, with fruitful results to the satisfaction of the client and governing agencies.Analyses show that Shenzhen should start to build comprehensive transmission and distribution systems incorporating various natural gas demands. (1) build a 4 Mpa class A system for the supply to small scale power plants, and plus 1.6 Mpa and 0.4 Mpa class A systems to form a parallel but organically incorporated triple range system. (2) High pressure system to be "north semi loop", sub-high pressure system to cope with the planed routing, and medium pressure system to cover the entire city, thus to be functionally satisfactory and in compliance with the requirements of the planning and standards and codes. (3) Privileged to have the Guangdong receiving station in the territory, build a LNG local peak shaving station as the hour peak shaving facility, to have the technology updates, economy, safety, flexibility of construction phasing, and space for future development all looked after, and anti supply accident risk ability enhanced. (4) to optimize the system, LNG supply to Yantian District should be independent, thus to rationally adjust the sub-high pressure system, to improve the operation of the systems, to reduce cost, to increase practicalness, and to guarantee supply and future development. With the agreement of the client, experts and governing agencies upon the scheme, it is believed that Shenzhen will have advanced natural gas transmission and distribution systems on the basis of this scheme. But to make an ideal system, attentions should be paid to: (1) the high pressure system routing permit; (2) LNG supply commitment from upper end for the use of peak shaving and local supply in this project; etc. In this paper, the notion of storage capacity calculation day is set up, analyzed and probed, and a judging formula thereof is for the first time established according to its mathematical modeling. The judging formula is tested quite satisfactory in practice. The latest research achievements on the optimal devicing of a high/medium pressure regulating station is used to review and optimize the scheme.
