With the rapid development of natural gas industry, more and more big cities use the high-pressure gas pipeline as a solution of the gas storage and peak shaving. In fact, the high-pressure gas pipeline, compared to the other storage methods, has the obvious characteristics, not only to save the land resources, but also has a significant economic advantages in investment, operation and others.Before the construction of high-pressure pipeline, it needs to budget the gas storage and peak shaving of gas supply area. The prediction method is used in this paper, this article forecasts the short-term and long-term consumption of load respectively. In this paper, a high-pressure network is calculated and simulated the analysis of hydraulic by using the method of Matlab programming. In the process of calculation, this paper demonstrates the feasibility of using the average pressure instead of the instantaneous pressure to calculate the gas quantity, in the same physical parameters. In the real-time storage capacity calculation of pipe network, considering the different period of network construction, in this paper, calculation is divided into 2.5MPa and 4.0MPa to the storage capacity of two reference value. The calculation results show that, when the pressure of pipe network node is up to 2.5MPa, the storage capacity of the high-pressure gas pipeline whose diameter is DN700, the tube length is 2.17′105 m, the effective storage volume is 1.75′106m3,it can meet the requirement of gas storage and peak shaving in 2013; when the pressure of pipe network node is up to 4.0MPa, the storage capacity is 3.43′106 m3, the effective storage volume is 3.01′106 m3,it can meet the requirement of gas storage and peak shaving in 2015,but it cannot meet the requirement of gas storage and peak shaving in 2020. It needs 1′106 m3 gas storage facilities. This paper also calculates the steady state of high pressure gas storage pipe network of city C, when the highest average pressure pipeline is 4.2MPa and the average minimum pressure is 1.6MPa, the steady state gas storage capacity of the high-pressure gas pipeline is 2.09′106 m3; when the highest average pressure pipeline is 4.2MPa and the average minimum pressure is 0.4MPa, the steady state gas storage capacity of the high-pressure gas pipeline is 3.05′106 m3.This paper is analyzed on the peak load capacity of the recent and long-term time. By analyzing the changes of the gas pressures in the network, the paper gets the volume of gas which could provide at this time. The results show that in 2013 the network can provide 3.33′105 m3 for the users in an hour which can meet the hours’ peak demand; in 2015 the network can provide 4.21′105 m3 for the users in an hour which can meet the hours’ peak demand; in 2020 the network can provide 5.51′105 m3 for the users in an hour, which is unable to meet the hours’ peak demand.Last, about the seasonal peak shaving capacity, in this paper, the load forecast in 2020 are analyzed. The results show that the seasonal peak shaving is a huge amount of quantities; the upstream gas supply must assume a seasonal peak shaving of the requirements and responsibilities.
