With the rapid development and improvement of Chinese electric power market, the scale of increasingly expands and the complexity of network call for still strict of Chinese electric power system construction and control, one of which is the construction of electric power supply, what is more important is the existing many obsolete control equipment and control method can't satisfy the require of modem electric power system, in addition, it is that the consumer claim the enhance of electric power quality and so on call for the improvement and perfectness of the existing electric power system. Nowadays electric power electron method and other new technology are being applied to electric power system, which offers technical sustain to the perfectness of the existing electric power system.The dissertation explains the control and function of electric power system from point of view of theory in the first place, and emphasizes the reactive power- voltage, and explains the effect of reactive power in electric power system from the produce-transmission-consume of reactive power, on base of which the dissertation enumerates diversified reactive power compensation equipment and reactive power compensation method, and analyses advantage and disadvantage of diversified reactive power compensation equipment by comparison. On base of practical need, the dissertation explains the function characteristic of synchronous condenser in particular, and from which explains the function of synchronous condenser in modem power system.The dissertation aims at the function condition of Qinan system in Chongqing and takes into account Qinan system that is the connection between Chongqing system and Guizhou system, on base of which the dissertation research the only synchronous condenser in this system. On base of analysis of the function of synchronous condenser discuss the how which affects the stability of Qinan system. Through program power flow system, calculate the flow of Qinan system when synchronous condenser is not energized and energized, and obtain the flow distributing and voltage of this two conditions , then summarize the influence of the power system by the synchronous condenser. On the base of choosing the model of generator and various of components in the power system, through emulating the system when synchronous condenser is energized or not, calculate the frequence of Qinan system and the change of some main nodes'voltage of the system.By analysis the results above, this dissertation the substitution projects after thesynchronous condenser is not energized,among these choices,it considers the new reactive-control equipment and compares the feasibility of these choices to resolve the reactive-voltage problem of Qinan powersystem.
