In this paper, the effect of the protecting cover on the parameters and performances of the motor is studied according to particularity of the design of the motor with protecting cover. A simplified method for calculating the loss in protecting cover is obtained by using the relevant theories, thus the design model of the motor with protecting cover is obtained. Computer-aided design program of the motor is programmed by FORTRAN language, which is used to calculate the typical examples. By comparing and analyzing the results calculated by hand, ones by computer, and ones tested, the calculation by computer can completely meet the requirements of engineering. It is shown that the established model for the motor with protecting cover is proper, and the CAD software formed is correct. To meet the need of the developing and exiting of enterprise, we summarize and induce the experience which got from the design works during recent few years. According to the design nature of canned motors, we set up a precise mathematic model to develop a assist design and it owns fine interface, high speed, high efficiency, easily learning, easy use as well accommodate Windows platform. Also in this paper, the interface software for computer-aided design program of the motor is developed by using Ms Visual Basic language on the platform of Window. We use the visible, the feedback and experimentation of Ms Visual Basic and set up a software which can be learned easily by engineers. We also use it to process and analyse the data of machine, electricity, heat and magnetic.and hence the perfect software for engineering design is formed.And finally, the problem about optimal design of the motor with protecting cover is discussed by nonlinear programming method, During the practice of design analysis, design synthesize, design optimize, importing design result and export design result we have got best design efficiency, lest cost and optimized orbit index and achieved a high reliability of quality, and the ideal results are achieved.
