Canned motor pump is a kind of mechanical and electrical integration non-seal pump, which uses the transmission medium as a circulating fluid to cool and lubricate the motor bearings. It is widely used in all fields of the national economy as it's absolutely no leakage. However, its special structure and working principle make the canned motor pump low efficiency and high energy consumption, thus the study of high-efficient canned motor pump has become one of the hotspots and directions. In this paper, a comprehensive study of canned motor pump performance is carried out through theoretical analysis, CFD, experimental study etc. The main tasks and research results are as following:1. Theory study:base on the comprehensive analysis of research progress of canned motor pump at home and abroad, the design idea of high-efficient canned motor pump is put forward. Through the comprehensive analysis on all kinds of energy consumption of canned motor pump, concrete methods to lower energy loss of canned motor pump are advanced, and it provides a theoretical basis for the design and study of high-efficient canned motor pump.2. Design method research:The study on 90W single-phase canned motor pump describes a design method of high-efficient canned motor pump. The pump design includes hydraulic design of impeller, hydraulic design of pressurized water chamber, calculation of pump efficiency, shaft power and the determination of torque, etc; the design of supporting canned motors includes selection of motor form, determination of motor power, determination of motor size, motor winding design and the components design, etc.3. Study of internal magnetic fields and electrical properties:through the electromagnetic calculations analysis for the two-dimensional nonlinear time-harmonic electrical field of canned motor by ANSYS software, the results show that different canned set parameters has different impacts on canned motor:While the shielding sleeve resistance rate increasing, the motor eddy losses will reduce gradually; and the shield sleeve thickness increasing, the motor eddy losses will increase gradually. Using ANSOFT Maxwell 2D and Rmxprt software to make simulation analysis for the canned motor performance, the running motor performance curve can be obtained. 4. Internal flow field and experimental study:using FLUENT software to make internal flow field numerical simulation analysis of the cycle pipeline of canned pump, the circulating situation of internal flow field can be obtained. Researches show that the velocity and dynamic pressure of rotor shielding sleeve periphery in circulation line is maximum; the velocity of the bottom of shielding sleeve is lower, which easy to gather heat and leads to gasify. Verified by tests, and compared with traditional single-phase canned motor pump, the efficiency of this kind single-phase canned motor pump is increased.
