Along with deepen of electrical power system reform, and the requirement of steady operation of network has become more and more important. But with power system enlarged, the tightness of network interlinks, and enhanced complexity degree of system, security and steady problems of voltage emergence. The work of system reactive power optimization and control is significant for system security and economical operation.Under the condition of background faced with the power system, and combined with the research of this problem, this thesis explains the objective and requirement of voltage/reactive power control firstly. The means of voltage/reactive power control are then compared, and a conclusion is made that voltage control plays a significant role in research of electric power systems. This paper discusses voltage/reactive power control based on strategies of expert systems and immunity principles; coordinative control strategies with layered configuration of system voltage control are also explained in detail.Objective introduced in this paper is active power loss minimization and movement minimization of control element, and at the same time SCOPE software is used as a computing tool. So the problem of system reactive power optimization is solved through OPF algorithm.The network of Deyang region is used as a test system to be carried out calculations of reactive power optimization. Coordinative control strategies under normal or emergency states are investigated. At last, an optimal design strategy for the voltage/reactive power control of the regional network is proposed.
