This paper first introduced the significanse and the research status of the grid voltage and reactive power optimization, and the ojectives and principles of the rigional power grid voltage and reactive power also is summarized. Then according to the situation of Qinhuangdao power grid and it's dispatching automation system, the voltage and reactive power optimization control system based on the SCADA is proposed, what's more the structure of the hardware and software, data communications, software folow and etc is introduced. Next the data processing and specific function of the voltage reactive power optimization control system is completed. At last, base on the analysis and summary of the power grid reactive power optimization algorithm, the improved genetic algorithm is given to solve the reactive power optimization problem. This algorithm can overcome the disadvantage of conventional genetic algorithm, which can't guarantee convergence to the global optimal solution, easy to premature and have slow convergence speed. At the same time, it bring it's strong ability of calculation, less information require, simple program realize, suitable for solving the problem of multi-objective, nonlinear optimization, etc. into full play. Practical applications show that this algorithm can make the voltage reactive power optimization control system to achieve good effect.
