The new method of wastewater treatment-Biofilm-electrode process has been developing abroadly recently.lt is very effective in the denitrification of nitrate-polluted ground water and drinking water. This method has some advantages as low cost,high nitrogen removal efficency,easy control and etc. In the experiment,we studied the effect of denitrification in the batch reactor and the continuous flow reactor.The results are shown below.(1) The biofilm-electrode process can remove nitrate in the source water effectively.lt was confirmed that COD as well as nitrate was removed simultaneously.(2) The ratio of C:N has some influence on denitrification.In all,the efficiency of denitrication increased with added C:N.(3) The electric current can accelerate denitrification, especiallywhen the ratio of C:N is low.The efficiency of denitrification increased when the electric current get high.(4) The denitrification in the batch reactor has higher efficiency than that in the continuous flow reactor.The reason may be the difference in the form of reactor.That also influence the nitrite accumulation in the reactor.(5) The batch reactor can remove nitrate in the groundwater effectively.
