The freewheel clutch is a necessary component in the transmission system of the mechanical engineering. It can turn on the system when the speed of driving shaft over the speed of driven shaft, otherwise is to turn off. The feature of the clutch is more important for the security of the airplane's engine.In this paper, based on the working conditions of airplane's engine, the research of the sprag type freewheel clutch has been performed, it's structure and sprag's main parameter were designed in detail. According to the geometry relation of the freewheel clutch, drive the function of the strut angle, draw and analyze the curve of strut angle. Related elastic theory has been applied to develop the stress and distortion of freewheel clutch outside and inside. After making products, it's properties including the static wring, the tied longevity and overload were checked and the result is satisfied.
