In this manuscript, the test stand for the key component of ABS system, the hydraulic control unit (also known as HCU) is designed and manufactured. The whole test standard is designated. The hardware and software for test stand is also made. It provides effective tool for inspecting and examining the HCU.First, the mathematic model for automotive hydraulic braking is built, which is effective tool for analyzing HCU characteristics. It can compare the HCU pressure output of model and that of practical hydraulic system, which can verify whether the HCU can meet the need of a real ABS system.The stand program is made by Visual Basic computer language. It has many test functions such as HCU static characteristics (seal, high pressure), performance (dynamic characteristics, frequency), and Hybrid simulation ABS with real braking pressure and HCU reliability for HCU. In order to verify the effect of test stand, two kinds of HCU are tested on this stand. The test results are analyzed and studied. In summary, this manuscript introduces the vehicle braking system model, the test standard, the manufacture of test stand, the verification of test stand. This stand is of importance for inspecting HCU and developing HCU. It can also replace expensive import equipment for HCU.
