As the development of construction equipment and cantilever concreting, construction technique for long-span continuous girder bridges has been greatly improved. At the same time, advanced construction technique may promote the level of bridge design. Reasonable selection and decision of construction scheme, equipment and arrangement are key issues to ensure safety, quality, schedule and efficiency in bridge building. That is why it necessary to keep on technical innovation in bridge construction. Aiming at quality problems in long-span concrete girder bridges, research works should be carried on in cause of formation of quality problems and its prevention and treatment measures, so as to decrease furthest bridge defects brought during construction. Meanwhile, process control of construction quality must be strengthened, and construction monitoring and load test of bridge built should be implemented.Relating the characteristics of construction technique and quality control in long-span prestressed concrete girder bridges, construction methods, construction quality, construction monitoring and control, and load test of bridge built are discussed in this paper. Combined with engineering project, the Goupitan Wujiang Bridge, a continuous frame bridge with main span of 166m, is introduced. Key techniques in cantilever concreting, construction arrangement, girder deformation and concrete stress control, dead and live load tests are presented in detail. Also, quality problems such as concrete cracks during design, construction and service for prestressed girder bridges are analyzed and discussed.
