Study On Urban Architecture From Its "Urban-attribute"

Present dissertation is studies of form of architecture and city based on the "urban-attribute" of the architecture. We also apply the theory to practice on architecture, urban design and city planning in the dissertation.The dissertation is divided into two parts.The first section, which is about the theory, has three chapters. The second chapter defines and interprets the main concepts in full dissertation: city, "urban-attribute", and so on. The third chapter investigates the two styles of architecture with "urban-attribute": architecture as landmark and architecture as interface. The fourth chapter introduces interrelated theory of this study, and interprets the concept of moderate "urban-attribute".The second section is constituted by Chapter Five, Chapter Six, Chapter Seven. This section is about the practice. The fifth chapter applies the theory on the moderating of architecture and city. The sixth chapter is a study on the city renewal of Beijing. The seventh chapter introduces some interrelated cases, including urban design and city planning.The dissertation is concluded by summarizing the basic characteristics and several principles of "urban-attribute" of architecture.In sum, the theory on "urban-attribute" of architecture establishes relation among architecture design, urban design and city planning, and founds a base for the general study on the form of architecture and city.
