Research On The Design Of Megaform’s Architectural Interface

With the rapid development of cities,there are more and more large-scale construction projects in China.However,these large-scale buildings tend to fall into superficial and exaggerated image design.The huge majestic size brings a sense of distance and oppression.The buildings lack attention to urban life,and the inner and outer spaces of buildings are isolated from each other.Based on the above phenomenon,this paper attempts to introduce the western theory of megaform.The megaform theory put forward by Kenneth Frampton advocates the intervention of the iconic huge horizontal mass in the development of the city,and tries to provide a huge public activity place for the city life through the building itself,thus realizing the transformation from a huge cold majestic mass to a huge warm and pleasant place.However,there is no indepth study on this theory in China at present,so this paper attempts to fill the corresponding gaps.As the intermediary between architecture and urban environment,architectural interface is one of the most intuitive and decisive design elements in architecture,and the intervention of interface can directly affect the overall expression of architecture.Therefore,this paper chooses "interface" as the breakthrough point,trying to outline the concrete design techniques of megaform architecture through it,transforming the megaform theory into practical implementation strategies,exploring the practical value of the megaform theory in China,and exploring effective strategies suitable for Chinas development,thus providing an effective solution to the dilemma of megaform in China.This paper expounds from three parts: raising problems,analyzing problems and solving problems:In raising questions:The first chapter introduces the research topic from the current problems related to architecture and city,defines the concept of architectural interface,establishes the research foundation and direction,and expounds the academic basis,research purpose and significance,research methods and contents of the research.In the analysis of problems section:The second chapter analyzes the current situation of Chinese large-scale buildings,sums up the typical problems existing in those large-scale buildings,and analyzes their causes,then explores their great potential to transform into megaforms.The third chapter analyzes the theory of Megaform in order to try to outline its theoretical connotation.Firstly,studying the background and connotation of the theory.Then summarizing its core characteristics,and enumerating relevant cases for explanation.Then,by comparing the relevant theories with the Megaform theory,this paper analyzes the differences of “object,place,field,matrix” concepts between them,and finally exploring the application value of the Megaform theory in China.In the problem solving section:The fourth chapter introduces the element of architectural interface into the study of megaform.Firstly,the concept discrimination and basic characteristics of architectural interface are studied.Then,it analyzes the research value of its intervention in megaform architecture.And then,from different types of urban public space,this paper analyzes the composition of megaform architectural interface in urban public space.Finally,based on the previous theoretical analysis and case studies,the different characteristics of the interface of megaforms are summarized from three angles.The fifth chapter summarizes the design strategy,management and use strategy of the interface of megaforms,trying to translate it into practical application measures.First of all,in the part of design strategy,combined with specific cases to analysis the design techniques of megaform interface form three different dimensions: city,architecture and detail.transform the theory into specific design strategy;Then,from various angles,this paper discusses the management and use suggestions for the interface of megaform after completion,so that it can play its role more comprehensively and effectively.The sixth chapter summarizes the article.Firstly,in view of the current development state in China,the enlightenment of megaform and its interface design method and the challenge of its application in China are discussed Then summarize the research conclusion of this paper;In the end,reflecting on the shortcomings of the article,and putting forward the future prospects of related research and phenomena.It is hoped that the discussion in this paper can provide reference for the research and application of Megaform theory in China,provide effective methods for the design of megaforms,and provide effective solutions for improving the conflict between large-scale buildings and cities in China.
