Student dormitory facilities is an important part in high educational institutions.It provide thestudents a place where they can study and live in.The thesis tries to study some factors of the studentdormitory facilities on basic of analyzing the student. The thesis is divided into three parts and sevenchapters: Part one including chapter 1 and 2. This part mainly states the background of the building of student dormitory. By study the livingsituation and living system of foreign school, our situation was analyzed and some reform plan wasbrought forward. Part two including chapter 3 to 6, it's the body of the thesis. Focus on the characters of the student, some ideas were given to dormitory facilities planning anddesign. Chapter 3, by study the investigation form the students, the demand of the student to thedormitory facilities was confirmed,and it come out to be a springboard to study the student dormitorydesign. Chapter 4, all factors of the student dormitory collectivity plan were discussed in the chapter,such as the dimension limit, the relationship with the city and the campus, the method of collectivityplan etc. Chapter 5, the space layer and form were studied. Indicate the focus of interior space building isthe living cell and main facts of out-door space building is living building & living group. Chapter 6, the cell of the dormitory design, analyzing from physical environment control,spacedesign and furniture setting three aspects. Chiefly, the basic size of the living space and all aspect of thephysical environment were studied in the dormitory physical environments. The demand of the spaceoverall arrangement was chiefly analyzed in space design. The furniture in the cell was studied basedon the physical and mental request of the student. Part three is chapter 7. In this chapter, the thesis previews some development trend of dormitory facilities. Itindicate the build of the student dormitory facilities should considered physicalenvironment,society environment and ecological environment. Furthermore this partanalyzed some new development trend of the student dormitory facilities, includesocialization trend, student participate trend,sustained trend,cultural trend andintellectualized trend.
