This thesis researched the characteristics of Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) magnet and the methods on calculating its relative parameters, based on the projects of Feasibility Research of Chinese Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) from Chinese Academy Science (CAS), which were mainly on design of dipole and quadrupole magnets. As to stranded conductor and coil structure, exploring works were done and they are valuable references to the final design of CSNS/RCS magnets and their establishments.Firstly, the framework about CSNS and its RCS Magnet System are introduced. Then, basic theories, parameters calculation approaches, result analysis and estimate methods, are summarized. Based on the conventional procedures and practical experiences for magnet design, new approaches of parameters calculation for RCS magnet are put forward and relative programs are wrote.Two schemes for the choice of dipole and quadrupole magnets are figured out respectively, according to the requirements of beam dynamics. They provide good foundation for the building of model magnets. Parameters for magnets are calculated based on the optimized magnet pole shape. These parameters including mechanical dimension, electrical parameters, temperature rise, and so on.Two kinds of novel design plan of coil structure, Indirect Water Cooling Coil and Weaved Wires Coil, are presented. They can effectively reduce eddy current loss in coil conductor and the cost of magnet as well. If these ideas can be put into practice in model magnets, it will promote the technology of accelerator magnets.
