| Due to rapid industrialization and urbanization, Reports of vibration felt by occupants of building structures caused by traffic have been filed more frequently in metropolitan cities around the world.According to the characteristic of the vibration source and the way by which the waves propagating, a simple prediction model is proposed for the ground vibration induced by trains. The performances of model have been validated by some measurement campaigns.By using the model, the vibration level can been predicted accurately but the frequency component. In order to study the ground-borne vibrations in buildings near railways, a measurement campaign is taken. Responses of five hypothetical reinforced concrete structures subjected to field measured ground motions by passing train are analyzed. Base on the results of the numerical simulation, the coaction of the natural frequency of buildings and the dominant frequency of the ground vibration on the responses of buildings is researched. Due to the concerns of the vibration discomfort of the people living alongside the railway, a evaluation of the building vibration is taken which using a rule defined by the ISO.To solve the problem of the vibration induced by vehicles, a approach based on the classical theory is introduced. In order to test the feasibility of the way that taking the ground vibration as the excitation to analyze the behavior of the buildings, another measurement campaign is taken. |
