This paper presents a mathematical model used in network reconfiguration for optimal reliability worth. It also presents an improved Genetic Algorithm based on operating-cluster improvement strategy in which the infeasible solutions brought from GA operation are improved to be feasible ones . And also the approach to distribution network reliability worth evaluation is presented including the modeling of elements and the formulation of customer damage function, with two kinds of calculation methods to get reliability worth indices: analytical method and simulation method with the comparison of results when using different variable probability combinations.Test results by IEEE RBTS Bus2 and RBTS Bus4 are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the whole algorithm.
