Partial discharge on-line detection of XLPE cable accessories is an effective kind of methods of diagnosing faults of XLPE cable accessories. To suppress the noises in PD monitoring of XLPE cable accessories on site, the combined denoising method based on the fusion of ultra high frequency (UHF) and low frequency (VHF) measurements was put forward. It has the favorable anti-interference characteristic and superior sensitivity that using UHF sensor to detect the PD of XLPE cable accessories. It can work with the VHF sensor. Using the window cutting from time domain, it can reject the interference, and VHF sensor has the calibrate ability for the apparent discharge quantity. This method has a good foreground. This paper establishes a system for partial discharge on-line detection tests of XLPE cable accessories, it has superior sensitivity and anti-interference characteristic. It has the calibrate ability for the apparent discharge quantity .Tests show that based on the UHF detection system has good effects of on-site detection.
