The optimal renewal period of equipment is to evaluate the scientific and reasonablerunning time of equipment for reducing maintenance cost and improving work efficiency,which must depend on the research of economic life and can guarantee the safety, reliabilityand economic of units. As an auxiliary device, the high pressure heater directly relates to thesafety, reliability of unit. It is also very important for saving energy and making economicprofits in power plant. With energy shortage and competitive electrovalence, nowadays thereliability and renewal periods of high pressure heater are focused more and more. Based on reliability characteristic of high pressure heater and the method of the lowestcost every year, a mathematical model is presented in the paper. After analyzing runningcondition and fault characteristic of high pressure heater, the static and dynamic model ofhigh pressure heater for calculating optimal renewal period are made respectively. Thesolution of simplifying model and analyzing method is also discussed. The optimal renewalperiod of high pressure heater is calculated and analyzed on the static and dynamic mode in aplant power. This paper will provide some reference for the maintenance decision of managers inpower plants.
