With a bulk construction of Rolled Asphalt-concrete Core wall Dams, there is an urgent need of the research on testing behaviors, construction characters and mechanical models of hydraulic asphalt concrete. For Asphalt Concrete Core-wall Dams built on deep overburden layers, the status of stress and deformation of dam body and Core-wall are both complex; the status of stress and strain of concrete imperious wall in the dam foundation are also complex. Aiming at gaining the stress and judging whether the hydraulic fracture may occur in the core wall, and checking whether the stress in imperious wall exceeds the strength, based on comprehensive discussion about the engineering performance, this paper use 3-D nonlinear FEM Program-TSDA and Gid7.2 to build the model, simulate and calculate the Longtoushi Dam on Dadu River. The main work are as following:1. Introduce the history and development of imperious technology of hydraulic asphalt, and forecast the application of asphalt concrete in the construction of high rock-fill dam in future.2. Analyze various test methods, test results and mechanical models of asphalt concrete detailedly, and research related development.3. Through the actual project, research are made on the development, application and data interface technology of Gid7.2.4. Give a qualitative analysis to the relation between size effect of element net and the final calculation result; study and discuss the parameters of dam calculation model.5. On the basis of 3-D FEM method, this paper combines own program and professional software Gid7.2 effectively to deal with the calculation results.6. On the basis of the parameters of Duncan-Chang E-v model gained in the Lab. and according to the field results of three triaxial test of an actual asphalt concrete core-wall dam, analysis are made on the parameters sensitivity of asphalt concrete.7. Subjects researched are the safety of Longtoushi Dam, consisting of the whole dam, core wall and imperious wall; this paper successfully simulate a Asphalt Concrete Core-wall Dams built on deep overburden layer by 3-D FEM method, achieve visual model building and analysis of the results by using technology of Gid.
