A Study On The History Of Tianjin Early-modern City Planning

As a part of historical and theoretical research of Chinese early-modern city planning, this paper put great emphasis to study the process of the development of city planning in Tianjin , the content of the city planning practice, the evolvement of city planning administrative department, from the point of view of city planning history research. And analyzed the characteristic of Tianjin city planning during early-modern period, as well as the factor influencing the development of early-modern city planning of Tianjin, and discuss its status and effect in the history of Chinese city planning.The paper consists of seven parts.The first chapter contains the origin, the significance, the object and content, the method, the research framework and the present condition of research about this study oversea and in China.The second chapter analyzed the history and construction of Tianjin city from the point of view of city development, and discusses the factors influenced the forming of Tianjin city after the opening of the ports.According to Tianjin early-modern city planning during 89 years from 1860 to 1949, the third chapter, puts forward the phases and process of "concession expansion and roads construction, city planning and construction of partial region, master plan and construction, city planning by Japanese during the war and the resuming and development of city planning after the war, and gives the reasons, signs and main contents of city construction and planning of each sub-period.The fourth chapter studies the process and main contents of the concession construction and planning in early-modern of Tianjin, includes the basilica events, projects and actives.The fifth chapter mainly studies the independence of city planning made by Chinese during 1883-1937.The sixth chapter probe into the city planning and administrant institution by Japanese during the war, and analyzed its characteristic.The seventh chapter is about the resuming and development of city planning and construction after the war.The eighth chapter is analysis of the historical characteristics of early-modern city planning of Tianjin , mainly researches the forming of the city pattern, introduction of western city planning theory, compare with other cities such as Shanghai and Wuhan in early-modern city planning, and analyzed its advancement and localization.The nineth chapter is a summing-up of this paper and the review about the research of early-modern city planning of Tianjin, and previews the after studying.
