The Situation Analysis And Developing Countermeasure Study On Commercial Pedestrian Streets In Wuhan

As one of the most important Urban public space, The Modern Pedestrian street provides a proper site for shopping, leisuring, entertainment and communication, it is approbated and identified by the people. Since in the 90's 20 centuries, The Modern Pedestrian street construction develops swiftly in china, and arise an upsurge. Today, there are more then 200 Pedestrian streets in china, and also increase 10-20 streets each year. But some of them present situations are very bad, and are very hard to maintain the well states in beginning, not attain the construction purpose. There are some problems such as site selection unreasonable, the scale unfit, location unfixed, and so on.There are three commercial pedestrian streets that Jianghan road and Yingtai road and Wansongyuan road were reconstructed in Wuhan from 2000 March till 2002 February years, but today, an investigation on them manifests the present situations are badly, and exist some questions. Facing to the situation, the author analysis's the reason in essence from the most important three elements that decision-making and planning-designing and servicing- management, lastly, the thesis puts forward some theoretical suggestions. So that it will benefit to the pedestrian streets construction that the decision-making more reasonable, and the planning-designing more fitness, so that the pedestrian streets will develop continually and healthy.This thesis first looks back to the history of Pedestrian Street and the feature of each stage, then introduces these three Pedestrian Streets of Wuhan reconstruction processes briefly and already acquired efforts in early days, then points out problems that exist on them, and analyzes the fundamental reasons. Consequently, living on the theory reference together with some examples, the dissertation puts forward some suggestions.
