Tubular scaffold support is a kind of temporary structure, but the accident due to it happened occasionally, resulting in serious economic loss and bad social consequence. The scaffold is connected by couplers , the quality of which are usually disqualified. In addition, there are many problems in construction management. In a word , accidents are often due to human errors. Therefore, it is very important to design scaffold structures in a standardized and correct way and it' s meaningful to develop a construction software for construction enterprises.The paper reviewed the development of scaffold technology in our country, introduced the classification of scaffolds and analyzed accidents of scaffolds that occurred frequently. The paper contrasted and analyzed several theories about the calculation of scaffold, also made a detailed analysis of the used tubular scaffold code (JGJ130-2001). It is useful for the following study.After measurement and survey in 10 construction sites, employing fuzzy evaluation method and multi-hierarchy AHP model, a new method of safety assessment of formwork support construction was put forwards. It can be used to evaluate the safety performance of formwork support, and also make effective suggestions for the improvement.A series of experiment of couplers and tubular scaffold were made, providing material parameters for the following finite element analysis(FEA). Then FEA models were established, the capability of different models were obtained. This is the basis for developing construction software.At last, the paper illustrated the basic structure of the software. The main content and process were also introduced detailedly. Then two illustrative examples were given in the paper to demonstrate the application process of the program.
