The renewal of the commercial pedestrian street has become one of the important problems that the developments of the historical districts are facing. Each country of the world pays more attention on the reformation research and application of the commercial pedestrian street. This is a complicated system engineering, which needs a generation even more joint efforts of architects, and this is an important engineering over a long time.In the annual construction quantities of every country, the urban reformation items occupy a large proportion, and the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street is the important part. Currently, the total planning level of the reformation of the commercial pedestrian street is still very low; the systematic research on the urban planning and architecture are less. Therefore, the thesis aimed at searching for some practical experiences and theories basis according to the renewal of the An Shan and Song Mei commercial pedestrian street.The thesis introduced the concept and the essential characteristics of the commercial pedestrian street firstly, the present conditions of the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street in the domestic and international, the background of the commercial pedestrian street construction. And through the systematical and scientific analysis and elaboration of the functional type and important contents in the design, these problems will be comprehensively and clearly understood. Furthermore, the thesis systematically introduced the general situation of the real estate industry in Bao Tou in order to explicit the background of the An Shan and Song Mei commercial pedestrian street. Then to introduce the effect and the necessity of the renewal of the An Shan and Song Mei commercial pedestrian street, in the aspects of city, society, economy and life; combine the concrete programming project to elaborate the principle, method, and steps within the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street. The thesis aimed at clarifying dialectical relation between the economy of real estate with the commercial pedestrian street construction, at the same time.The research of the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street involves the urban planning, building design, building decorate, building material, building structure, building equipments, various standard, various policy and remove, etc.Among them, the research of the building style and shape adopted in the building design is very complicated, which involves the comprehensive usage of each aspect of construction knowledge and local customs and habits, the culture of the region. At the same, social development, the population growth and the historical limitation of the urban planning etc. are all reasons of the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street. This research carries on thorough, systematically and scientific analysis and elaboration to this problem, which make us have overall, clear and deep understanding to the various factors of the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street. Especially in connection with specific concrete example, the scientific methods were used in the different stage of the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street, in order to guide us to carry on the reasonable design and choice, on the theories, in the each stage in the renewal of the commercial pedestrian street.
