Based on theories of single-chip microcomputer control and fault diagnosis technology, a kind of new bandage relaxation fault diagnosis instrument is invented. This instrument can find bandage relaxation and alarm immediately, and make contribution to locomotive safe running.Firstly, on the basis of clearing out the objective, principle, method and fault diagnosis, a feasible design project is put forward in the thesis. The instrument chooses temperature as characteristic information, and carries on fault diagnosis according to temperature. In the meantime, we analyze how bad working condition and radiativity influence measurement accuracy and take some measure to reduce their influences.Secondly, we choose a appropriate temperature monitoring point, and use limit forecasting standard as fault diagnosis basis. In the meantime, we get a safe threshold value by experiments. When measured temperature is bigger than safe threshold value, the system will alarm and remind driver to take reasonable steps.Thirdly, the thesis makes a brief introduction to the software and hardware parts of the fault diagnosis system, such as the concrete structure of the hardware system (includes main system, data collection system, show and save system, io extension system, communication and anti-jamming design), the framework of the software system(includes main program design and part main function module design)., and the function each sub system. In addition we design a blowing air system to ensure sensor's working.Finally, the primary research conclusion and suggested improvements are given.The instrument combines microcomputer, phonetic technology and IC card application technology perfectly. In the course of application, it meets the design requirement and provides guarantee for locomotive safe running. It possesses operate simplicity, system stability and strong extension character.The main research result is:1 Finish the research work of fault diagnosis for bandage relaxation.2 Apply infrared radiation technology to bad working conditions.
