The method of Vacuum Preloading had been very popular in recent years with the reasons of appearing no stability problem,shorting time limit for the project and having a satisfactory effect. However, the design theory and method were not quite mature, and mainly depend on experience. So, it was very important and necessary to make further study on the field of Vacuum Preloading.In this paper, theory analysis had been presented with the information of a project. And a new theory about the relation between settlement and time was also presented. The scheme in this paper provided a paticular basis for some project.According to the order of chapter of the thesis, this paper contained such research result as following:l.this paper studied consolidation characteristic and distortion law in soft soil under posive and negative action, introducing parse explain and numerical caculation theory.2.based on locale experimentation, the design and construction method of Vacuum Preloading was implemented and its reinforce effect and ecnomical charater was estimated. Testing indicated that the groundwork's intensity have increased 97%, silt soil have vanished .3.In the same time , this paper applied the plane strain FEM based on Biot theory to analyzed calculated result and observation information in scene.4.This paper put forward a settlement forecast model based on the modifided GAOMUJUNJIE method , using by inversion analysis theory to compare and analyzed the settlement process of Vacuum Preloading. Result indicated that the model inosculated with the fact data and the consolidation degree have finished 86% , back-work settlement was 87mm. These data satisfied project requirement.Some research about FEM analysis and settlement forecast model had been made in this paper, but with the development of theoretical study and the urgent demand in the engineering application, the research of this realm also will be further necessarily.
