This paper introduces the main task and purpose of noise analyzer, the current development of it, the constitution of it, and the developing mode of virtual instrument. It also introduces the developing history of virtual instrument-from traditional instruments based on hardware to virtual instruments and at last to current virtual instruments based on controls. It analyzes the features of virtual instruments based on controls and compares them with traditional hardware-based instruments. The virtual instrument based on controls is a completely new mode of the development of measuring instruments.First, the paper introduces the concept of virtual instruments based on intelligent controls in three parts, function endowing, test fusing and virtual instrument. And the paper introduces the principle of forming a intelligent virtual control, which includes the forming process from model elements of an non-intelligent virtual control to an intelligent virtual control. At last, the paper introduces the forming process of virtual instruments based on intelligent controls in frame agreement integrated developing system, and the principle of forming virtual instrument based on intelligent controls.The paper puts up modeling and designing of typical intelligent virtual controls. Design of intelligent virtual controls is a kind of software design, which includes the physical property design and controls' interface stipulations in frame agreement. The paper puts up the model designing of the basic property like position, size, shape, color, function etc., and puts up the immovable interface designing of intelligent virtual controls such as creating, saving, loading, deleting of controls, and provides the detailed producing process of intelligent virtual controls. At last, it puts up detailed modeling and designing of typical intelligent virtual controls like buttons, knobs and indicators.Then the paper puts up the modeling and designing of functions of noise analyzer such as noise spectrum analysis, sound intensity and so on. It first introduces several basic parameters in noise measuring, and deduces the sound intensity analysis principle mainly using frequency domain analysis, that is analyzing the principle of noise spectrum analysis from aspects of narrow band spectrum, sound pressure level spectrum, octave spectrum etc. Then it puts up detailed algorithm designing of noise analyzer's main functions including the total sound level measuring, time domain analysis, frequency domain analysis, octave analysis, weighted, A weighted, B weighted analysisand so on. Finally, it puts up the program designing of these functions and provides relevant interface functions.Finally, the paper puts together a usable noise analyzer in VMIDS development system. It puts up overall design of the noise analyzer including the construction of noise analyzer and the software development environment. It introduces the constitution elements of VMIDS development system from putting together field of instruments, function bank of instruments and intelligent virtual controls. It puts together a complete usable intelligent noise analyzer through the process of control creating, property modifying, function enduing. At last, it gives the applying example of noise analyzer based on intelligent control.
