The virtual instrument has been firstly put forward by the NI company of the UnitedStates in1986for more than20years. With the boosting of the rapid development ofcomputer science and technology and electronic measurement technology, the advantagesof virtual instrument is more and more obvious from its proposal to nowadays. Besides,it has made brilliant achievements in many test application fields with the trend toreplace traditional instruments. However, spectrum analyzer as a measurement frequencydomain test equipment,it has huge volume, low agility with high price and maintenancecosts,makes it difficult to spread in the experimental teaching. After the study of basicstructure and working principle of traditional spectrum analyzer, this topic presents akind of spectrum analyzer scheme based on virtual instrument technology.The virtual spectrum analyzer of this subject includes the hardware acquisition circuitand software function analysis circuit.The hardware circuit mainly digitalizes the data bythe MCU controlling AD chips, the data was collected by FPGA,and thecommunications of system bus communicates with the bus by the achieving dual-portRAM from FPGA.The software adopts graphical programming language and the development of LabVIEW.LabVIEW application software corresponds with system bus through the DLL,thus getsthe signals sent by signal acquisition card. Then it analyses and handles the signals usingthe software programming to complete the development of instrument function.
