A Study On Urban Waterfront Park System

The rise of domestic waterfront park is another climax after that of foreign waterfront park. The paper is of particular significance in surveying from the visual angle of city and greenbelt the urban waterfront park which includes the factors of not only city but also gardens and greenbelt. The paper analyzes the characteristics and present situation of domestic waterfront park, attempts to explore how to set up urban waterfront park system which is up to the situation of China from the angle of city and greenbelt, and constitutes the criteria of assessment to the system in order to provide valuable references to urban waterfront park which is built now or will be built in the future.The paper analyzes the history and present situation of the development of foreign waterfront park, reviews the background, drive and type of the development of domestic waterfront park, proposes that the developed domestic waterfront parks are mainly city and greenbelt type, and points out the non-integrity of greenbelt type waterfront park system, the imperfection of green corridor of waterfront park, the incompactness of waterfront park and city, and the underdevelopment of the traffic in waterfront park which compose the "target" of the paper in order to raise the problem.According to the problem existing in this phase, the paper makes a description of the people's concept towards urban waterfront park sight, the functions and characteristics of urban waterfront park, and the constituents of waterfront sight, and attempts to establish from bottom to top the basic framework of an integral urban waterfront park sight system based on experiences and theories. Subsequently using methodology of system theory, the paper takes the city in the waterfront park as a proposition to establish the notion of self-collocating system and green-corridor system of waterfront park; takes the waterfront park in the city as a proposition to analyze the integrity between waterfront park and city, the expansiveness of space and the development of the traffic to build up mutual relations between waterfront park and city in order to analyze the problem.Finally, the paper puts forward the principles of assessment to waterfront park sight system, taking Jiangtan Waterfront Park in Hankou of Wuhan city as an Example to correspond to the problem existing in domestic waterfront park and the assessment to waterfront park mentioned above in order to solve the problem.
