| The governor mentioned in this article is based on PLC, and a field bus based all-digital governor was built up. Cooperating with Wuhan Stars Electric co., Ltd, the author has participated and finished the design of the system, the selection of hardware and the programming.The main content is as follows:1)The theory of governing for hydro turbine has been introduced, such as its definition, the principle of governing, the basic structure of the speed governor and the characteristics of the governor system. The content and meaning of all-digital electric-hydraulic governor, which is the main research subject, were presented.2)Several popular technologies of field bus were introduced. Combining with the field bus and control system forms, the comparison between several popular field bus was conducted and with field bus based all-digital electrical governor, Modbus field bus was selected.3)The structure of the field bus based digital electro-hydraulic governor?was set up in this article. Taking PLC for example, the related hardware knowledge about the control core of the speed governor was explained. And the selection for the controller of speed governor system, data mining and the executor was made. 4)The theory of Modbus field bus communication technology, the realization of the Modbus communication in the governing for hydro turbine, the hardware setting for the rotation encoder, the communication programming, the using for the servo?electromotor?and for the driver and the analysis for the reliability of the real-time communication were demonstrated in detail.5)Some problems should be paid attention were presented. The advantages of all-digital governor were concluded. In the end, the places need to be improved were discussed and some authors'ideas were presented,too.
