The Design Strategies Research On The Climate Adaptability Of Residential Roof In Hot-summer And Cold-winter Zone

In 1993,《The Declaration in Chicago》 points out:" The building and its environment play very important role in the natural , the meeting demands that we must keep on developing the principle at the comprehensive thinking to the usage efficiency of the resources and the energy, the influence to the health ,and chosen of the material", and puts forward" investigating the natural and ecosystem as the basis of the design" at the same time. Hot-summer and cold-winter zone in China is a booming area with large population. It is self-evident that the improvement of the thermal environment of residential buildings in this area is of great importance. But the weather in this area changes vastly. It's always very hot in summer and extremely cold in winter. Buildings must cost a high price and pollution letting off to maintain a comfortable condition. It does not fit our aim of acting Men, Architecture and Environment as a whole entity properly.Roof is the important external protect structure of the residence building. From the investigation of the residence building' roof in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone, the author root out most of roof in this zone have not think over climate factor but simply adopt normal method. These roofs has weak acquaintance to the climate design, and do not have the considerate of the climate adaptability.The author studies the roofs of the Hot-summer and cold-winter zone in design aspect, technical aspect and economic aspect. After analyzing the special status in this area carefully, the author compares the superiority and inferior position of existing roof type, makes up deeply review to the different capability of roof material, and educe house roof adaptability aiming at radiation and thermal transmit performance which have guide signification to the design as well. The idea of the "changeable skin" comes from the research topic—Eco-design Strategies in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone, supported by National Natural Science Foundation in China and directed by my professor. The paper finds its origin in a responsible attention on the eco-issues in China and the evidence-based design ensures a reasonable conclusion with eco-significance and contributes, by all means, endless resources to the architectural design and its creation.
