With the high-speed development of the traffic construction, the advanced automatic inspection and measuring equipment of pavement comes into operation progressively. But because the technical standards about automatic testing and the testing rules are relatively lag, use of the automatic inspection and measuring equipment is restricted on a certain degree. Aiming at the five indexes often used in quality inspection and control of automatic monitoring and assessment methods of highway pavement are discussed and explored. The conclusion remarks are drawn as following:(1) Research on automatic inspection and measuring as well as assessment method of highway pavement are discussed and explored. The pavement deflections, the neat degree, the horizontal sideway force coefficients and horizontal slope data are analyzed according to statistical method by adopting the T examine law. In terms of the expressway service current situation and related department's suggestion, the data obtained from the length of 1km pavement segment and spacing a lane are calculated and assessed for the typical pavement segment of newly-built expressway, and data obtained from the length of 100m pavement segment to all lanes are calculated and assessed for the typical pavement segment of running expressway.(2) The experimental study of relativity shows there are good linear relations between the values obtained by the automatic sink instrument, the neat degree instrument, line shape of geometry etc. automatic instrument and equipment and the results gained by the standard testing methods in current rules.(3) Based on investigation of a large number of field testing data, the modified method of influence of considering the speed of monitoring vehicle, environmental temperature, season, longitudinal gradient and transverse slope, vehicle style etc. factors on automatic inspecting and test method of highway pavement indexes is presented.(4) The results of the statistical analysis of highway pavement testing data by adopting x~2 examination method prove that transverse slope data and transverse force coefficient on the condition of running and non running pavement segment accord with normal distribution. Hence we can use statistical method calculate representative value and assess condition of highway pavement.(5) Different radar instruments and antenna often used in domestic country are summarized. The features such as resolution, exploration depth, precision of pavement radar are contrasted and analyzed. Reasonable choice radar and drafting the corresponding testing rule is feasible.
