With the rapid development of expressways in china, a large number of early built highgrade highway need to be rehabilitated. Under combination effect of environmental factorsand traffic loading, the distress of high grade highway asphalt pavement and road bridgestructure gradually deteriorate and performance of them degrade, which bring seriousimpacts on highway service and traffic safety. It is necessary to make reasonablemaintenance technology to improve the performance of asphalt pavement and bridge to asatisfactory level.Based on Xi-Lin expressway maintenance project, the technical conditions of highwayasphalt pavement and bridge are evaluated and analyzed by distress investigation. Theevaluation methods of functional performance and structure performance of the asphaltpavement and bridge are studied. A reasonable maintenance treatment scheme is developedby literature review and advance maintenance concepts. During project practice, based onthe asphalt pavement and bridge equipment maintenance technology research, a suitableset of maintenance construction technologies is determined including materials, equipmentand construction control methods. At the same time, through the study on trafficorganization measures, the special maintenance construction technologies withoutinterrupting traffic are found. The research results can provide useful experiences andreferences for performance evaluation and further maintenance technologies developmentof pavement and bridge in our province.
