Valid synchronous generator parameters play a very important role in the stability analysis and short-circuit calculation of power system. In this paper, the following issues are investigated on the background of engineering project:1. Taking the BPA model as model research object, the corresponding problem between the model and parameters is studied. For electric parameters in d-axis, taking use of steady-state condition and the restrictions between the generator parameters, anew identification method is given. Through the identification of four parameters——Xd, Xf, X"d, T"d0, all parameters in d-axis can be made out. The simulation shows theefficiency of this method.2. The identifibility of synchronous generator mechanic parameters is studied. Taking the hydraulic turbine and turbine generator as its research objects, the identifibility problem of mechanic parameters is analyzed theoretically, which indicates that the mechanic parameters can be identified uniquely. The simulation illustration shows the validity of above theoretical analysis.3. The synchronous generator parameters identification software is developed.4. Some aspects affecting the identification accuracy of synchronous generator are studied, which shows the reasonable model and effective identification method are the key points to the success of synchronous generator parameters identification.This paper has made some contributions to the modeling of synchronous generator.
