Design And Development Of Multimedia CAI In Diesel Engine Structure Practice

After the appearance of the first multimedia courseware by applying multimedia technology and computer technology to education domain, excellent multimedia CAI courseware emerges in endlessly and affects the assistant teaching seriously. Therefore, it is called Education Domain's Forth Revolution. However, the performance technology of multimedia CAI courseware is still getting behind the development of multimedia CAI theory, restricted by computer technology, cognize subject and education's development, and its main performance in High Education aspect is that the multimedia CAI courseware's quantity and quality of specialty elements courses and specialty courses teaching is not so good as that of elements courses in evidence.With the gradual development of manufacturing industry and diesel technology, the diesel structure has changed a lot, which has brought strong pressure to the diesel engine structure practice. Thus it's necessary to innovate, and our college considers the making of the diesel structure practice multimedia CAI courseware as an educational innovation subject in2003.This paper focuses on the design and development technology of multimedia CAI courseware in diesel engine structure practice. The author, understanding the multimedia CAI courseware's characteristics, working theory, working principle and development technology, development flow, completes the systemic design of diesel engine structure practice multimedia CAI courseware combining the teaching features, aim and request of diesel engine structure practice courses; and then collects and makes multimedia materials such as texts, sound, figure images, 2D cartoons, 3D cartoons, video and so on, with the tools like 3D max, Flash, Word, Photoshop, and builds 3D model base of the diesel engine's components so as to make the 2D and 3D cartoons that could simulate the working process and principle of diesel engine and the teardown and assembly process of crank guide. After the above work, the author completes the playing of the alternate controlled multimedia video and develops the multimedia CAI courseware with better mutual function and expressive force for engine structure practice by using Authorware. Using this CAI system, students can understand the structure, theory and work process of the diesel, also including some engine tearing open and installation and maintenance knowledge.This paper does some preparation work for the designing and development ofspecialty practice courses multimedia CAI courseware, and it can be used as a reference for multimedia CAI designer.
