In modern thermo-electric plant of large capacity, the backwater heating system and the generator-transformer unit both are the most important parts. The function of the backwater heating system can directly influence both economic benefits and the safety in production of the plant. And, the coordinated control system is the key factor for keep the stability in operation of the power system.The object of study is the second extension project of Qujing thermo-electric Plant (2x300MW) of Yunnan. Two major problems, there are coordinated control system of the generator-transformer unit and the modeling of the backwater heating system, were studied. Firstly, on the basis of the analyzing the backwater heating system and applying some reasonable simplification and the modeling method, a simple and rational mathematical model on the backwater heating system was established. Secondly, it is suggested that the coordinated control system of the generator-transformer unit can be achieved under the condition of the coordinated fuzzy intelligent control algorithm through the medium of series post-compensated decoupling. Finally, using the software of MATLAB, a simulation model of the generator-transformer unit and its control system was established. The result of simulations is satisfactory.
