The codes and the specifications in steel-structure field in China,such as GB50017-2003 , JGJ 99-98 and CECS 102:2002, said the bearing ability of shear force in panel zone must be sufficient, otherwise the inclined stiffener should be applied. But all of the criterions have no formula on how to design the inclined stiffener and the panel zone with inclined stiffener .To resolved the question this paper analyzed the post-buckling behaviors of abundant panel zone with inclined stiffener models ,which concerned different geometric factors, in finite element analysis method .The explains of the panel zone's post-buckling strength was given after a particular description on deformation and stress distribution of the panel zone .A equal model of penal zone with inclined stiffener was found, with which design formula of panel zone with inclined stiffener and the inclined stiffener in gabled frames was established. Another conclusion was that the inclined stiffener must be well welded with the boundary of the panel zone ,if not, it will be useless.A opinion was also bring forward that the prescription for the transverse stiffener in panel zone in JGJ99-98 was not safety enough.
