| Reverse engineering is an important supporting technology of digesting advanced technology, shortening time of product redesign and manufacturing, and is one of core technology of advanced manufacturing technology. With the development of computer technology and measurement technology, object reverse that making use of CAD/CAM technology has been a research hotspot in the territory of CAD/CAM, and has been primary content in the application of reverse engineering technology.The design of tread pattern is an uppermost task in the design of tire; tire top locates on double crooked face and tread patterns are complicated solids possessing 3D structure. The interactional mechanism between tread pattern and road surface is especially complex and many problems are still unknowable to this day, that the design of tread pattern still lacks effective academic guidance. It is in dire need of finding a new method to speed developing period.This paper studies key technology of object reverse engineering of complex parts, the author studies the technology of surface digitization, data processing, surface reconstruction and surface fairness in reverse engineering. The paper brings forward the method of measure and data processing in tread pattern reverse. It analyzes the functions of Surfacer in data processing, curve construction and surface construction, and manipulation flow of data processing, curve construction and surface construction in reverse engineering.
