By analyzing the situations of the RTU equipments home and abroad, aiming at the shortcoming of the RTU and the practical applications. A new distributed RTU device based on DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology was developed. The Present State of RTU was introduced first in this paper. The author briefly analyzed some problems caused by using single chip microprocessor as front porch control, and proposed the hardware and software structure which used industrial level micro-controller 80C52 as master CPU, TMS320F206 as slave CPU, and can perform measurement, control and communication. A high-speed and high-precision distributed data acquisition and processing system was designed based on DSP ,The synchronous data sampling of the supervising system was realized by multi-channel collection retaining and A/D transformation circuit. Data between the master and slave boards can be transferred by dual-port RAM. According to the special characters of Substations, the algorithm implementation of digital signal processor was presented. The equipment can provide comprehensive and accurate recording data for quality study of electric energy. Besides, it can remember real time curve and frequency spectrum.
