Piled wharf (wharf with pile group underwater structure) is a kind of structure,which is very commonly used in port engineering. The structures of pile wharf approptiate a lot of flow area. It can decrease the velocity of flow and upgrade the water level. So it is important to understand the flow characteristics of pile group channel. Based on the datas and investigation of ZhuJiang delta, we made clearly about the location﹑scale and structure of pile wharf. By the indoor flume experimental, discussing the different length and width of the pile group effect on the water flow of riverway. Based on the experimental data,matching the formula about the max of backwater height and the length and width of pile group,it can be used to analyse the influence of pile wharf to flood carrying capacity of river. We got some turbulent characteristics of pile wharf by the ADV. The author draw on the experience of others and use momentum rule to deduce the flow distribution formula for steady non-uniform flow. Furthermore, the results fit well with the experimental results.
