With the development of the permanent magnetic materials, all kinds of magnetic mechanisms come into being. Permanent magnetic gear is a kind of transmission mechanism that can transmit torque and movement without contact. Based on the analysis of calculation theories on magnetic field and torque of permanent magnetic gears, the characteristic curve of torque-angle are calculated with the use of Ansoft electromagnetic calculation software. We also investigate the fluctuation of rotational speed under a constant load. The influence on the maximum transmittable torque from the number of magnetic poles, air gap, permanent materials, operating temperature, demagnetization and magnetic masking is studied. We also discuss the influence on the maximum transmittable torque from the dimension of permanent magnetic gears, and obtain the relations between the maximum transmittable torque and the outer radius factor, the inner radius factor and the gear width factor. Some useful design principles are obtained which can provide the permanent magnetic gear users with design methods and theories. The characteristics of torque and rotational speed of skew gears are investigated and the characteristic curve of torque-angle of inside engaged gears are studied, too. We also investigate the characteristic curves of torque-angle of straight tooth gears when their shafts have different alternate angles. The influences on the characteristic curve of torque-angle from the alternate angle and air gap are discussed. The structure design and the characteristic curve of torque-angle of magnetic bevel gear is studied and the relation between the maximum torque and air gap and the tooth width is analyzed. We also study the skew gear transmission under certain alternate angles and...
