Problems concerning energy and environment are the hot spots of nowadays world, worrying about the depletion of natural resources, and environmental deterioration, humans are busy improving the present energy consuming devices as trying to find the high-efficiency and pollution-free energy resources, aiming at make the best us of energy at all links of its flow. As the second of energy consuming countries, energy and environment problems are being listed in the relative development programs during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period. It can not be denied that non-contact permanent magnetic gear transmission has a good effect of improving the transmission efficiency. But the important indexes evaluating such transmission are the max-torque and torque-changing value. So, the first job to study it is the torque-angle character. Typical structure of permanent magnetic transmission is permanent magnetic clutch and gear, but the torque the permanent magnetic gear can transmit is much less than that a permanent magnetic clutch can, this is a fatal defect, for such reason, little attention is paid on it, and its usage in practice is rare. This article stands on the background of nowadays researching, proposed this special structured permanent magnetic variable speed device, using Ansoft—an electromagnetic field analysis software—to analyze the characters under the condition of different magneticpole clearance, axis clearance, size of magneticpole, quantities of magneticpole couples, and so on. It expatiated on the following pulley's slave motion process, discussed each parameter's impact on the max-torque, properly compared with the traditional ones, and designed an experimental device for further verification of the theory.
