Although permanent magnet synchronous generator has many advantages, such as simple configuration, high reliability, it is still difficult to adjust magnet flux. When the load is changed, the output voltage of generator will change also, which will affect the normal working condition of load. In order to solve the problem, a double-voltage hybrid excitation earth rare permanent magnet synchronous generator(DHPMSG) has been designed in this paper which combines both advantages of normal synchronous generator and permanent magnet synchronous generator. The advantages mainly are:(1) It is easier to get a sufficient magnet flux control. Because the aided electrical excitation current can be adjusted, the output voltage is adjustable.(2) It still has no brushes and high reliability because the aided excitation winding is set on stator.(3) There are two output voltages because two windings are in its stator.First of all, this paper gives a concept about the configuration and theory of the DHPMSG. Based on traditional magnet circuit anglicizing way and permanent magnet drawing and by using traditional BLONDEL theory, A model for electromagnetic calculation and formulas for voltage are obtained by dealing with the d- axis and q-axis electromagnetic coupling of the double- winding armature reaction.Secondly, We design the voltage-modulating circuit of the BLONDEL. We can modulate the voltage of the aided electrical exciting winding, then result in the alternation of the air-gap magnet field. We can keep the outer voltage invariable.At last, by using VB6.0, we have written the aided design program of the double-voltage hybrid excitation rare earth permanent magnet synchronous generator. Tow sample BLONDEL have been designed. The testing results of the sample generators indicate that the generators and its voltage-modulating circuit are very well, and it can satisfy the request of the design.
