Study On The Construction Of Eco-city In Chaohu City

Eco-city, thought as a kind of ideal mode of the city in the future, has not only offered people a feasible scheme to solve the urban problems that has already appeared, but also offered a feasible way to realize the goal of sustainable development. It has received the extensive concern from all circles.At first, the paper carried on the essential summary to the relevant theories and constructing experiences of Eco-city. Secondly the author built the index system of Eco-city evaluation on the basis of forefathers' research results. Then the calculation model and weight of the index system has been established. After summing up the basic situations of Chaohu city ecosystem, the author carried on the appraisal to the state of development of the ecosystem using the data of Chaohu city in five years (1999~2003). The result shows that: in the study period, the urban ecosystem turns better gradually, which advances steadily from "badness" to "common"; the urban ecosystem structure is on the rise basically, but up to now, the level is quiet low and the stability is not enough; the urban ecosystem function presents a fast and steady ascendant trend, which develops well; the urban ecosystem harmonious degree is very bad, which fluctuates obviously and rises faintly in the study period.According to the appraising result and analyzing the conclusion, combining the materials obtained after the investigations on the spot, the author has proposed five suggestions on the Eco-city construction in Chaohu city. First, the urban planning should be perfected and the special Eco-city planning should be made as soon as possible. Second, the recycle economy idea should be carried out in producing and developing. Particularly, it includes three respects: ecological industry and cleanly producing, ecological agriculture and developing Eco-tour. Third, the decision-making mechanism should be scientific and high efficient. Fourth, the urban environment should be perfected. Fifth, the idea that people first should be recommended, which includes narrowing the disparity between urban and rural areas, perfecting the social security system and building good social environment, combining ecological culture and training people's ecological consciousness.In the last part of the paper, the author analyzed the outstanding problems in the urban construction of Chaohu city especially, for instance, the prevention and control of water pollution, city forestation and road & traffic renovation. What's more, the author sequentially proposed the ways to solve those.
