This work is supported by the Guangdong Province Natural Science Foundation. The voids between tunnel liners and water leaking in metro tunnel are simulated and surveyed in this paper, for the increasing attention to the defecting of tunnel in the world.From the present research and practices, there are some shortages in identifying the concreted sizes and shapes of the voids between liners. And the water leaking in metro tunnel is still not explored, basing on the general comprehend to the actuality of tunnel surveyed.The difficulty is consisted of the internal varied complexity and the external random interferes. The voids between tunnel liners may contain many mediums, such as air, moisture, and soil etc, except for the shapes clutter. Especially to the water leaking in shield tunnel, the water may contain some slurry and the water content changes with the external environment.The voids between two tunnel liners are filled with air and the water is full of varied cracks and voids at the interface of liners or wall lock are simulated in this paper. The samples are surveyed by GPR and the data is analyzed by wave, 2D and 3D technique .And the testing results is compared with the sample models. The potent of the non-destructive method in surveying the tunnel is researched by the laboratory simulations, tests and analysis.A lot of subjects, such as electromagnetism, science of materials and signal processing, are involved in this research. Firstly, the precise of positions and sizes of unseen voids is improved by the study, and the figure of void, especially to the shape of level slice, is identified. Secondly, the defected concrete in tunnel liners is identified. Thirdly, its smart property is that the water leaking in cracks and water accumulation behind liner are identified by the experiments. Besides, the research method and the working principle presented are academically valuable.
